One of the most common complaints about dishwashers is that the dishes do not come out as clean as expected. Before you start tearing apart the machine or calling for Frigidaire repair, there are some simple solutions that might fix the problem. Ask yourself a few easy questions. Are you overloading the dishwasher? You might be surprised to learn how much is too much. Refer to your owner’s manual. Is there silverware below the basket? This happens often when you’re not paying attention. The silverware can obstruct the spray arm.
Are you using the right detergent? Again, refer to what the manual recommends. Do you scrape bits of food off the dishes before loading them into the washer? Dishwashers are meant to clean the dishes but most can’t remove hard, stuck on food. Do you have hard water? If so, you will need a special rinsing agent. Hard water can leave a nasty film on dishes. How high is the water temperature? The water heater should be set no higher than 120° F. This temperature will prevent accidental scalding while still maintaining energy efficiency. Most dishwashers have a heating booster to raise the temperature to 140° which should do the trick. But if it doesn’t have a booster, consider a different dishwasher.
When all else fails, call for Frigidaire repair.
